Meleah's Thoughts About Lady

We have a new dog. Her name is Lady. She is a Blue Heeler. I like lady a lot.
I love her a lot but she is really hyper.
She has sharp teeth and
sharp  claws.
I taught  her  how to ''stay''
We take her on walks.

My Moms

Happy Mother's Day!
I am so very thankful for my Moms. You may wonder why I mention more than one but that is because there have been so many women in my life, not all have been mothers, that have touched me.  I have admired certain qualities in their lives, received encouragement from them at a needed moment, witnessed their examples as they guided their children and homes as well as having shared their love. I am so thankful for all these lovely women that have been a blessing to me in my own life.
To my own mother, I am thankful for your love and patience with me. I never once doubted your love, you always made me feel special. Thank you for all your encouragement, even when I couldn't admit that you were right. You mean so much to me. I am thankful that my daughter shares your enthusiasm and zest for life, I get to have part of you with me everyday.
To Caroline, my other "Mom", you have been such a blessing to me in so many ways. I have seen your patient example, desired to seek after that scriptural wisdom and insight I have witnessed in your life. I have always valued your opinion and advice. You have taught me the blessing of hospitality and service. I love to see how you continue to find ways and means to serve others. I also thank you for all the recipes and cooking hints. I am blessed to be your daughter-in-law.
To my Laura, you have been so wonderful to be there for my kids. They love to have that special attention and love they get from you. I have seen that individual attention you give every child and I know I glimpse Christ's love in your actions, every child is precious in your sight just like His.
To all my church sisters(including my own sisters and sisters-in-law), I would try to list all of you but it would be impossible. Thank you all for being there and sharing your motherly advice, your loving examples and encouragement. I know that I would never have made it through church with babies and toddlers, Croup, Teething, Hormones, and all those challenges that you face as a mom if it weren't for each of you. I see all the things that each of you endeavor to do in your lives and in the lives of your kids or nieces and nephews and your examples give me hope and strength to continue on. Thank you.
I hope all of you enjoy Mother's Day, whether you are a mother or aunt or friend, I have been blessed by you all.

Track Meets

We woke up last Thursday to snow on the ground and more falling. The 1st through 4th Grade Track Meet was postponed due to the snow and rain. They moved their Track Meet to the following Monday. I was quite relieved because all I could see is how long it would be to sit through the snow on a cold, metal stadium seat.
Friday the weather was better for Cody's Meet. He missed a few practices because of Conference and going to Arizona so he ended up only doing the Standing Long Jump. He got 1st place for 5th and 6th Grade Boys!
6 feet 3inches.
He wanted to do some of the shorter distance running but all that was available was the 400 and the 800(1/2 mile). He decided to start practicing for next year.

Travis ran the 400(one time around) and the 200(half way around).  He did really great but there were a lot of 3rd and 4th graders. He went out there and did his best though and did well for a kid that didn't want to run in the first place.

Meleah really shouldn't have participated, it is 1st grade through 8th grade, but she really wanted to and they said she could. She was out there running against 1st and 2nd graders. She ran the 50 and the 100 yard dash. In the 50 yard dash, she qualified for the finals. She was first in her group!

The Home School Group got 2nd place in overall performance. They have a great coach. (He reminded me of Andy Brown in running shoes, it made me laugh every time he ran with the kids. He speaks like Andy too.) I was glad the kids participated. They had a great time meeting new friends and learning some new skills.

Our New Piano

This was one of our special deliveries today. (The refridgerator died and was still under warranty and so they switched it out today too. Not as fun though.) I have been looking for a piano but not seriously. Bob told me he found one at the Habitat Re-Store for $100. It looks really pretty too. One key is chipped and it needs a tuning. What I discovered, really the kids discovered that one of the keys, when depressed, changes it to a harpsicord which is interesting anyway. Now to find a tuner and a teacher.

The kids have been going through their old piano books and trying to play some of the songs. Kim and Aimee will be happy to know that even Travis has been playing some of the beginner songs. Meleah has even been praying that they would be able to deliver the piano today and carrying around her books, planning which songs she would try first.

I will just need to start praying that it will hold a tune.
